Justice Brandeis Law Society Hosted Event Honoring Judge Davidson Appointment at Miller, Zeiderman & Wiederkehr

New York – March 12, 2018 – Miller, Zeiderman & Wiederkehr, LLP is pleased to announce that the Justice Brandeis Law Society hosted a reception at the firm’s White Plains office honoring Hon. Kathie E. Davidson on her recent appointment to the position of Administrative Judge of the Ninth Judicial District. The invitation-only event, which took place on March 14th, 2018, celebrated the achievements of Judge Davidson, who formerly served on Westchester Family Court. She is the first African-American administrative judge of New York state’s Ninth Judicial District.

Judge Davidson previously made history in 2004 by becoming the first African-American woman elected to a county-wide judgeship in Westchester County and only the third elected to Family Court in the State of New York. Her legal career spans over two decades with a special focus on children and families. Her prior positions include serving as a hearing officer with the Board of Education for the City of New York; law guardian with the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society; an investigative attorney with the State Education Department and a stint as sole practitioner specializing in Family Law in Westchester County.

Judge Davidson received her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts and her Juris Doctorate at Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. Her last position before taking the bench was with the Westchester County Law Department as a Deputy County Attorney, where she was responsible for the implementation of the Westchester County Local Laws, 308, The Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Law.
